Default All the help I can get

I have a 2002 formula with the LS1 and a T56. I already have the motor out and was getting ready to take it to a machine shop and have it gone through and I have the heads redone. The goal was between 400 and 450 horse. When it's all said and done and I've got a motor ready to drop in I will have about $4,500 in it parts and labor. A friend that works at a junkyard just called me and told me that I can get an LS2 complete drop in motor w 50k on it out of an 06 vette, with the harness and the computer for $3000. My question is where can I find all the information that I need to make this work? I have done a lot of reading on these message boards and I can find bits and pieces of things to answer different questions, but I haven't found everything that I need to make this work. Any and all help that I get would be greatly appreciated.

4500 parts and labor for a 400 horsepower goal seems absolutely insane to me. A simple cam swap in even a high mileage stock LS1 can pull off 400 horsepower at the wheels.

To answer your question on the LS2, you need to find out what year it is. If its an early LS2 with a 24x crank wheel, it'll damn near drop right into place of an LS1.

its an 06 Corvette motor. I'd say it's a safe bet it's a 58 tooth reluctor wheel.

it is, but with close to 200k and the enjoyment of pulling it in my driveway, I dont want to put a tired block back in with a new top end. The horse power goal is just a side note. The longevity of the engine is more the main focus. This is my wife's car and I want to make it right and manageable.

Lingenfelter sells a box to use a 58x engine with a 24x PCM/wiring. It won't be a direct drop-in though. Some of the sensors are in different places.
