Advice on building 5.3
Good morning to all! I am new to the site and building LS engines. I am about to be in the process of building a LM4 for my Tahoe to replace what’s in it due to high miles and excessive oil burning. That being said I can’t justify building a stock motor it’s just not in me lol. I don’t desire to build a drag motor for sure, it will be a daily driver. I had been thinking about doing a federal rebuild, with a BTR stage 3 truck cam. GM lifters with a Melling high pressure oil pump. But that’s as far as I have gotten in my thoughts for a build. I do have another motor also have a set of 862 heads and 706 heads. I guess I would like to hear other people idea and what you guys/girls think I should build for a god daily driver with a little extra thump. Thanks in advance.

I hope you are going to run a 2800-3200 stall converter with that cam if not go with the stage II instead. I wouldn,t waist the money on a high volume or high pressure pump, just get a summit m295 it is made by Melling and you can shim the pressure releif valve for more pressure if you desire Headers/exhaust ?
