Default Base engine's part list... should I consider anything different?

The LM4 (aluminum block, 5.3L)

- Stock crank, stock rods, new pistons for 10.5 - 11:1 CR. (hypereutectic or forged?)
- ARP main studs, heads studs, and rod bolts. (for added strength just because)
- GM 243 casting (LS6) cylinder heads w/ PRC Stage 2.5 porting work
- BTR Stage III LS1 camshaft (in their complete kit w/ .660" springs)
- GM LS6 intake OR Weiand LS1 intake (both with Holley 42lb injectors)
- PSI Standalone Wiring Harness for DBC

All of which is going into a '98 Chevy S10 (I know, boring) w/ a T56 hooked up to a shortened Ford 8.8 w/ LSD, 3.73 gears, and a 4-link setup.

I'm way new to the LS thing, so if anyone had to throw a best guess power number out there for this setup, what would it be?

It appears that way. But I won’t know for sure until my machinist informs me otherwise.

If your sticking to the stock bore size you may want to speak to some cam vendors to see what their recommendation is for a cam on the 5.3L vs a LS1 cam (5.7L) I would guess you'll be in the high 300 wheel HP range if it stays a 3.78 bore.

What size header and exhaust will you run ?

Stainless Works LS-S10 1-7/8 headers, some sort of x-pipe down the way into dual exits.
