Default V6 2000 camaro V8 swap

There is a 2000 V6 camaro for sale in my area for $1200. I guess the engine is misfiring. My question is what are the differences other than engine between a V6 and V8 camaro? My plan is to eventually put a LS1 into it.

A lot of differences.
The V8 has a heavier duty suspension, different rear end and many other things, like the PCM obviously.
Not trying to be a Debbie downer but I'd just look for clean LT1 Fbody or high mile LS1, you can get a clean low mile LT1 for 3-4K.
You could also squeeze some power out of the 3800.

It would be cheaper to buy an LS1 car. Too many other things to make it cost effective.

Now if money isn't really an issue or your planning on a long term build, I would say go for it. I've spent over 10 grand in the last 4 years replacing and upgrading the entire suspension, Building my LS1 into a H/C/I car. And various other mods and supporting parts. And thats doing all the work myself.

Look below to get an idea of the cost with upgrading enough to support the LS1. Keep in mind my costs for H/C/I upgrades are probably equivalent to what you would have to spend on buying a used LS block, T-56 tranny and the rear end.
