What's the thread size heater hose ports behind thermostat?

What's the thread size heater hose ports behind thermostat? what is the size of the thermostat heater hose ports. Friend said 3/4 and 5/8. But the motor is all metric,,right ?
So so I need to add a 1/8 NPT water temp sensor for Race Pak digital dash . So I thought behind the thermostat on the smaller port would be great. Also to route the wire is perfect there. It's 2001 ls1 Vette.
so an adapter is needed.
