The stock drive train would probably be ok with a cam only. Any more than that, and you would be better off rebuilding the trans.

Tsp 228/228 .600/.600 cut on 110lsa. Great mid range. Choppy idle. Sounds bigger than it is. Just my 2cents wourth.

Op now that I think about it. What exactly is your goal here? Mild hp increase and sound like a big cam with out to much hassle and easy drivability. Or you actually want advise for a big cam/full exhaust/full supporting mods to run the (best) it can? With soso drivability and much higher cost... Just not enough info here to really give an some what accurate answer from the guys that would be Reading this thread.

Easy drivability with a good lobe chop sound is what im trying to get out the ls1. Ported heads with an ls6 manifold and 95mm tb. Fuel injector size and fuel pump still undecided. First time ever doing any work on an LS. Just need a decent setup thats quick without drivability being a hassle.

It's been a while on this thread, I pretty much forgot about . Post this in genIII internal, you'll get alot more people with advice. And post what you have (headers/exhaust/trans type/gears/ goals for the car and any thing else you can add.... There's some guys here that will help I'm Shure.
