Default Engine swap cost

What’s a good engine swap for my tired LS1, also cost all in?

Too many variables, too many questions for you. How much work are you willing to do?

Paying the typical shop to R&R an LS1 engine in a body:

Low $900, typical labor rate ~$75 an hour

Typical $1200 to $1500, typical labor rate ~$100 an hour

High $1800, typical labor rate ~$125 an hour

Tuning $400 to $600

If paying a hot rod shop to swap plan to have ~$3,000 on hand
Labor $1500
Tune $500
Y pipe & exhaust work $200
$800 for unexpected surprises

The cost of the new engine and other parts not included.

I have a L99/LS3 short block for sale for $3k. It's was a crate engine with 0 miles.

You will need heads (stock $500), LS3 intake with fuel rails and injectors are $350, Lingenfelter 58x to 24x is $300, it will come with a LS3/LS2 timing chain cover, cam and supporting parts are about $1,500. I would add $1000 For extra surprises. Oh ya, $500 For the time.
