First impression and a question
I'm in the market for an LS-1 car and drove a six speed 98 Camaro today. It's stock except for 18" wheels and 295 series tires. I had the traction control on, according to the little light, and decided I'd punch it about half way through first gear. The car sounded nice and accelerated up to 6000 RPM when I shifted into 2nd. Somewhere along the line I noticed the little "traction control" indicator in the gauge cluster come on. So I suppose it was doing it's job, my question goes as follows: Is the traction control preventing me from feeling the "full" effect of the cars horsepower. To be honest, (No flames intended), the car felt, well not so strong. Is it the TC's fault? I was going to deactivate it, but when I pushed the switch it fell back through it's hole and then I couldn't dig it back out, yes it was a bit awkward. Thanks - Tom
