Default Knock Sensor 2 Low Input (Bank 2)

Hey everyone, so I just bought that TransAm to drive after the WS6 got T-Boned. It seems really well taken care of, and it didn't have any engine lights on or any problems the first few weeks of driving it, but the check engine light just came on and it was the Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2). Is this a hard/expensive fix, or just a quick pull out that anyone can do? Also, would this pull timing? The car seems a bit slower than our WS6, although our WS6 had full exhaust, 92mm FAST AIM/TB, minor weight reduction, and a more aggressive rear gear (3.72 or whatever.) Also, the WS6 has Traction Control, this new one does not, so I just figured the slower speed was a combination of the above. Less power, less aggressive gear, and I don't have the computer assisting my hook. But is it possible this bad Knock Sensor could be hurting performance?

1999 TransAm, 117,000 miles, A4. Stock except wheels/tires, air lid, strut bar, and magnaflow catback (currently removed until I install headers and cutout to mate to it.)

I'm still curious if it pulls timing when faulty, but I see that they are underneath the intake manifold, groan. I guess I'll buy an LS6 intake or something and get it all done together.

I would buy two new knock sensor and a new knock sensor harness since you are there. Don’t want to have to do double the work if the other one fails in a couple thousand miles

Its not a hard job per se. Just time consuming. There are a couple videos on youtube that show guys doing it. Glad I watched them before doing it. I'd replace the map sensor while you have the intake off. Easy to get to while its off. Don't forget to unplug/ replug that vacuum line under the map sensor.

Aye. I upgraded to the 92 FAST intake and throttle body on our WS6 last year, and had to take it back off because I broke the oil pressure sensor. But that job took me two days.... I'm such an amateur. Lol.

Ha ha. Did you break it with the brake booster hose? That thing is tricky to fish out still attached to the intake. That is how I did it but I was careful not to let it break the oil pressure sensor. Frankly I wish I would have just replaced that sensor as well while I had the intake off. But I'm sure I will go to a Fast at some point anyway.

Yep, the brake booster hose did it. LMAO. Had to buy a socket specifically for that part, and a wrench that size to get out the broken plastic that remained in there. Was REALLY annoying, because I also had to hammer down the low pressure coolant lines the first time, spent hours trying to get the intake ribs (whatever they are called) on the 92mm throttle body, just ugh..... but it makes me slightly less anxious about doing this knock sensor and LS6 intake. (I would love to do a 92mm again, but I don't wanna spend $1500... I live paycheck to paycheck. Maybe if I could find a good priced used one...)

The knock sensor code went away on its own...? I didn't clear the code or anything...? Oh well, whatever. When I can afford it, I'll grab the LS6 intake and two sensors + harness as you guys suggested.
