So I finally got my engine swap running and now I get this knocking sound. Any ideas of what could it be?

 

Start with taking the belts off. See if it still does it. That’ll eliminate the accessories.


Almost sounds like a rod but I would think it would do it from the start.

 

Ok, I'll give it a try and see what happens

 

Yeah it only does it when I give it some gas

 

How is the oil pressure?

 

Oil pressure is at 24 at idle

 

Took the belt off and still makes that noise

 

clogged or sticky lifter??

 

Can you give the back story on the engine, Did you hear it run prior to installing? Oil pressure is a little low if that's cold idle pressure. The reason for asking what the oil pressure was and if you heard it run prior to installing it is to help find the problem, It could be a lifter that hasn't pumped up, It's usually not a knock sound more of a tick.
