Default Battery volt gauge moves

Hi guys just got a quick question for you guys . I have a 1999 camaro ss I have a sound system in it just so you guys know . I put a yellow top battery in it and my alternator was failing so I brought a new alternator with 200 amps in it and now when I turn the Volume up on the radio the batter volt meter moves ? So I don’t know why and how to fix that problem ? Any help would appreciate thanks

Your 200 amp alternator does not provide 200 amps of current until perhaps 2000 RPM or so. You should ask the vendor of your alternator what the power profile is versus RPM.

Your big stereo is kicking your vehicle electrical system's butt. Have you done the "Big Three Modification" to your electrical system? It is mostly a few hefty upgrades to vehicle grounding and power wires but you may still be killing your battery and electrical system with that alternator.

How many watts in the amplifier?

Rick

I believe it’s a m50 watt amplifier with a 10inch kicker sub
