Default Frustrating no start issue

Posted this on electrical as well wasn't sure where was suitable.

Owned car for 3 weeks.
2nd time stranded.
Key will turn in ignition but nothing. No dash lights etc. Stereo stays on weirdly.
Security light sometimes. I have a Rick's vat bypass with proper resistance. Installed that just now. No dice.
Last time after awhile it just started.
Kept messing with it nothing. Had to leave it there.

Cleaned resistor pellets.
Ignition cylinder feels sloppy. Is that my problem?

Also weirdly sitting there with nothing on occasionally heard a light clunk and once the windshield wipers moved a bit.

What year, vehicle ? Sounds like the ignition switch is bad. The electrical switch. Not the key tumbler.

It acted like a switch. I pulled column switch was fine. Actuator rod cake out of key end.
That's when the fun started. I disassembled to the point where I pulled tilt pins. Then I said F it and towed it to a buddies shop. Replacing entire column.
