Help with Hesitation at 2000 RPM
I have a '99 TA 6sp. For the last few months, I have notcied a hesitation at about 2000 RPM. It happens in any gear. It will pull hard up until 2000 RPM and pulls hard after about 2300 RPM, but right in that 2000-2300 range, it just has no GO. Has anyone experienced this before? Any thoughts on what to check?
Thanks
Chris

I would get some throttle body cleaner from your local auto parts store (cheap stuff that is O2 sensor safe). Just remove the tube on the throttle body side, unclip the lid on the front and take out the two retainers holding the assembly on. Then it will all lift up easily and be out of the way. I did this a couple weeks ago and it took some hesitation away and also took away a little sticking of the throttle. Just my 2 cents.

This is roughly the same RPM range where I get the ping in 2nd/3rd gear (auto) and up to 8 degrees KR. I am not sure if KR (knock retard) can get so bad you will actually feel it, maybe worth checking for?
