1998 SS

Howdy!
I am using a front sump oil pan (from a GTO LS) on the LS1 I got from a '98 Camaro. The oil pump does not want me to use the GTO pick up tube. Do I need a different oil pump or is there a front sump tube I can get that will work with the pump. I am hoping the second possibility is true because I just bought the dang high volume pump.
