Since I am a total novice ang firebird, I ask the question: How can I verify that I have an LS6 block? Have tried to read me to it but get no right side. No selections found. Somebody said some -02 had a LS6 block.

2002 you could have LS6 block but engine is designated LS1

And the only way to tell which block you have is to look at the casting number on the block. The casting number for the LS6 block is 12561168. It is on the driver's side, rear of the block, where the bell housing meets the engine. Good luck trying to see that with the engine still in the car. About 25% of the 2002's had the LS6 block.
