I swapped my ls1 to a 5.3 cause I blew a hole threw it but after riding around cruising the 5.3 for a couple months it started losing oil pressure after using it for 15 to 20 min it’s starts at 40 psi but keeps losing pressure after riding a bit I honestly think it’s the oil pump but don’t really know any clue to what it might be? I plan on putting a cam in it later so I’ll replace it with a performance oil pump then.

The Melling 10295 or generic equivalent will be the pump you should consider.

to verify the actual pressure you should hook up an accurate mechanical gauge.

If you do replace the oil pump purchase it from this sites sponser Summit Racing and get the Summit brand p/n SUM-121170
It is actually a Melling pump 295 standard pressure/volume. If you want more pressure install a washer at the pressure relief spring. Works great for about $80 less than the Branded Melling pump
