Default RWHP estimate for my Z28

I have a 1998 Z28 A4 with an slp lid and borla catback exhaust. Can someone give me an estimate on how much rwhp I currently have? Also my friend was riding in the Z28 with me and told me to floor it from a roll to see what the kick down feels like. Well I did it from about 40 mph and it didn't drop to a lower gear, am I doing something wrong or is my transmission messed up?? Thanks for answers my questions I'm definately a newb when it comes to the LS1.

~320rwhp is a good approximate.

I forget at what mph you'll drop down into first. 35mph or so in second gear is a dead spot with a stock converter in an A4.

Default RWHP estimate

Probably 290-295 rwhp, it's a 98 with an automatic. They won't make nearly the power the 01-02 m6s will.

My guess on rwhp is 290-300rwhp. A4's dyno lower than M6's. 98& 99 dyno lower than the 00-02. 01-02 have the highest stock #'s. A lid and cat-back don't net as much as the claims you see. The only sure way to tell is get it on a Dyno. There must be dyno days in your area where you can get it done for $50-$75.

Doh! I was thinking M6 when I quoted the rwhp estimate. I would guess about 300-305rwhp.

Well as for the rwhp estimates listen to the other gentlemen.

But there is nothing wrong with your transmission. Your transmission will kick down from a 30mph roll or I think the other spot is 60mph. By far, 40mph is a horrible spot to hit it from. Probably felt like you were moving like lava. Try about 28mph, 29mph, or 30mph and you'll get a little kick going in your seat. Good luck!

He probably has 2.73 gears so the kick down should be around 30-35. For the dyno numbers i'll say 285-295. A dyno doesn't cost that much. Usually 50 bucks for 2-3 pulls.

Try going 25 mph to get a good kickdown. Those of us with 98's and autos get low dyno numbers. Hell I only made 320rwhp with LT's, duals, and lid. (untuned) It's okay though, put a converter in it and all will be fine

2002 A4 300-310 rwhp 98 A4's had 3.23 gears as well.

1999 M6 w/headers and cat-back, same as a 98 310-320

ive seen several people say that 01-02 Z28s have over 300rwhp,so its kind of an ego buster when my buddy says,on a pretty regular basis, that mine has less than 300.
