Default A4 slams into Drive-WHy?

When i shift from park into drive (the D with the square around it) my car slams forward really hard. WHen my foot is on the brake it barely keeps it from launching forward. This set my ses light off and the dealer showed me that it was the IAT sensor throwing the code which makes no sense to me.

THe only things ive done lately was changing the rear end fluid a month ago after my 3.73s were installed. Wouuld too much fluid in the rear end do this? About a month ago I also put trick shift in it but only ran it for a few days and had it flushed. I also had Ls1speed do a PCM tune a few months back but they said that the harder shifts wouldn't do what im describing since I haven't had a problem until now.

Any ideas?

THanks!

I'm not sure about IAT, but if my MAF is unpluged it'll slam into drive very hard. I've had to move it once with the maf removed Do you have a check engine light? an unpluged or defective iat or maf will throw code and light.

How many miles are on the tranny? and was the fluid changed regularly or not? if you run fluid for a long time and then flush it.......say you had 10k on it and then at 95k you decided to flush it, you can mess up the solenoids and plug up the valvebody or the trans. you might have something there. wouldnt hurt to have it checked. good luck man

Check your rear tranny mount. The rubber is notorious for breaking down and cusing a clunk in A4's. Cheap and easy to replace.

It seems to be shifting normal again after replcing the iat sensor.

THanks for the insight tho.
