Default Question about a lid

00' A4 Z28 camaro (not ram air)
If i purchase a lid will i gain the 10 rwhp it supposobly gives you. Or does it only give you a 10 rwhp gain through the ram air models.

Lid is a lid is a lid.....same gain from any LS1, the Ram Air really isn't effective.

Have you done the 'free Ram Air mod' below the air filter? You really need to do that to maximize the benefit of the Lid.

I agree do the free ram air and then get the lid, it will help. I doubt you will see 10 rwhp but probabbly not to far from it. And I seriously doubt that you will actually FEEL a difference. You would see a higher HP # on a dyno but I personally dont believe that you would feel a difference as small as 10rwhp. Put some headers on and feel the difference.

i got a whisper lid, I havent done any dynos, but Ive noticed about a 1mpg increase around town, and I think it has better cruising acceleration in o.d.
Its definetly worth the money

not sure about 10 rwhp on a bone stock car, but once you mod the engine some, the lid will prolly be worth atleast 10 hp

When I installed my lid I also did the Free Ram air mod. I gained .15 and 1 mph in the quarter mile. I was really surprised with the result. A lid is a little over priced see if you can find a used one but, even if you pay full price its worth it. As for HP# couldn't tell you.
