Default high speed w/4.10's?

after figuring out that my vibration problem was just due to the rear tires not being mounted right. i now can go above 80mph without any vibration.

my question is should i feel anymore vibration at 110+ with the gears. will the gears be the problem vibrating the car? at speeds in excess of 110+.

i noticed this last night on my way home and took the car above 110 and the car would get real loud and vibrate real bad agian, seemingly from the gears. are the 4.10 gears just to much of a gear to be going above 110mph or is there something else wrong.

thanks

gears generally dont cause vibrations.
4.10's have been taken past 155
(i know)

i would look at alinement front and back.
chances are your just feeling the arodynamic limits of the fbody... non of them feel great over 110.
then lastly i would ask you .
please dont run those speeds on the street. those are not controled conditions. its one thing to run up to 90ish running thru the gears then backer down..
its a whole differant thing to run 100+ for distance on the street...
i dont wanna here another fellow fbody owner died cause he couldn't save it for the track

yea ill relook the alignment having that done tomorrow. as for the aerodynamins i dont think it would cause the car to feel the way it did. ive done faster before with no such vibration.

high speeds were on the freeeway not the streets but thanks anywayz, i understand where your coming from.

sigh..... freeway = streets
just becareful ok.

if its not in your alinement then take a closer look at things like sway bars, panhard rod ect. look for loose bolts
then look for bushing wear. if you see them worn its time for poly bushings.

hope that helps

aerodynamic limits of the fbody ?? hahaha ! In open road racing ( ORR ) the fbodys are some of the very fastest cars out there. My car which is aerodynamically speaking stock, runs at 170+ with no issues at all. I would look at tire balance, driveline balance, alignment, or if your car is lowered pinion/u-joint angles. Vibration isn't normal at any speed in an fbody. Well on further thought it actually IS kind of normal in my '71 Z28 which IS an fbody

Sometimes rearend ration changes will uncover driveshaft imbalances. A driveshaft that doesn't vibrate at 110 MPH with 3.42s may very well vibrate at that speed with 4.10s (the driveshaft is turning faster.) Just a thought.
