Default Sold My Saleen Mustang And Got An Ss

Just got an 02 SS from the local wholesale auction for 14k. It has 37k miles. I dont know much about the cars but found out it has a stall converter, gears, headers, drag radials, and borla exhaust. To put it plainly, it hauls ***. Just wanted to let you guys know that as far as performance it owned my SC281.

Raced a Saleen on the highway just last week. It was probably the same thing, it said SC....something...on the back. Raced from about 55 to 100. Pulled on him the whole time.

Are all Saleens 'SC'ed? I had a minor encounter with one once. It was not fast.

Same with the Roush cars. Most are just body kits and suspension.

don't forget the huge ROUSH decal on the front windshield. Half of the Mustangs on our nearby lots are Roush's. Everytime I see one they're so proud of their special supercars....not one fast one in the bunch. Gotta love the look on their face when your the first to embarres them.

(puts on flamesuit)They are Way Overrated just like a WS6 or SS.

Oh, and congrats on your new car.

Skippytheloon is just mad he just has a Z28 like everyone else. Everyone knows that the SS and WS6 are not any faster than the basic TA/Z28, just a lot better looking.

You're a fool for paying the premium for the SS or WS6.

Really though, they look sweet I love my SS whereas I hated driving a V6 lookalike Z28

Maybe I am, or I might actually get more compliments on my rare'er ground effects than my buddy does on his hood and wing (and ZR1's) when we hit the town.
But that wasn't the point, the point was that everyone says mine looks better and then asks me how I manage to keep up with him "cause the SS comes with a bigger engine or something, right"---Overrated, they think it's something really special and faster when its just a really expensive hood.

EDIT: Don't forget, I have my flamesuit on and therefore your efforts to flame me are futile. <I apoligize for ruining your thread>

I think it's a toss-up when it comes to the dilemma of buying the WS6 or TA (or Z28 or SS), I got a regular TA and spent damn near $1800 making it a WS6 (completely). The price difference to buy a WS6 from the get-go seems to be $1500-$2000. So how's that a bad thing? I know I know, from the factory it was more. But then it cost more at that time to get the hood, there weren't so many aftermarket options. I say it's a toss-up. Without a doubt I get alot more respect with the WS6 hood and badge than I ever got without them.

I bought my SS with 16k miles for $16k eat that you jealous Z28 owners

But in all seriousness when I had my 2000 firehawk TA before i got my SS i used to get owned by plain jane 6 speed z28's on a regular basis. So that shows just how special the SLP cars are.
