IF you build up that ford motor it would be just as "undrivable" as the 382
Supercharged motors are much tamer than N/A build ups (assuming equal hp).

Turbos are even easier to live with.

umm nooo, waste of money imo, the heads are freaking huge, you would have no room, you would be way better off with the stroker, they are just as streetable as any motor unless you go big cam which is true for any size motor.

i don't see the roots blower fitting under the cowl of the f-car, seeing as we can't fit a roots blower on the much smaller LS1 motor, let alone the beast of a 4.6 DOHC

i would like to see some pics, Could be powerful, as you can tune them a little bit better than the current ls1 software

Just throw in a cam and a supercharger or turbo. An forget the sacraligious effort. With those two you get power, lobe, streetability and a cool hissing or whining noise. You would also probably save money depending of if you were going to do the engine yourself.

The new Mach's are putting 280-290 hp to the ground. They are rated at 305 from the factory. The only thing the Mach's engine has in common with the 99+ GT's is that it is a 4.6

plug change on a modular is EASY, i've changed them in 30 minutes hot at the track, with the coil packs

Doubt you'll find an LT5 in a 4th gen - it would require some helacious modification to fit under the cowl. Its a very large engine. More likely (if what the guy claimed was even true) he had a SBC with a set of Arao 32V heads or something along those lines. I've seen pics of a Northstar swap as well, so I suppose that could be an option. Not sure why someone would go that route, though, beyond the originality factor.

He was probably talking about an LT4 motor.

But even those were rare in an f-body.

Why not just get a forged blower motor for you car. Get a D1 headunit and run about 10 lbs of boost and you could be at 600 on stock cubic inches i bet.

It's the unwritten, highly debated 11th commandment. A friend of my neighbors 2nd cousins step sister is pretty tight with Moses, so I consider it a fairly reliable source.

Question Emissions??

I know you can definitely make a 383 stroker "streetable" but, can you make it so it can state inspection emissions tests?!?! I've always wondered about this. Any thoughts or info guys? Thanks!!!

A 383 is perfectly streetable. Those few more cubes aren't going to make a car unstreetable, its what else you do.

For emissions testing, depends on what your tests are.

If its just an inspection, yes, if its a sniffer, depends on your cam/cat situation.

A header swap is a little different. The plugs are actually on top of the motor, right next to the fuel injectors. To change headers, you have to pretty much un-bolt the motor from the car and lift it a little to fit hands and headers in there.

Try getting a header in there without raising the engine, lol.
