Try getting a header in there without raising the engine, lol.

My question is: Why bother? The LS1 is easier to mod and work on. I had a 96 cobra and spent 2 days and 1600.00 for a cam swap and it only got me 24 RWHP. I was pissed!! I spent twice as much money trying to mod my Cobra than I do now with my SS and the SS is a hell of a lot quicker! Cobra engines are nicer to look at though.

I drive a trex on a daily basis in my A4 with a stall... I have yet to find whats "not streetable" about it. (other then changing the springs more often). The only people that say thats not streetable, if youll notice, have not personally experienced it. And get the stroker man. Unless your trying to go slower, stick with chevy, thell treat you right.

But even those were rare in an f-body.

ahh, the all but forgotten LT5. i believe would have possibly saved the f-body from extinction. lovely motor, a little expensive, but very effiecient. I have seen one in my lifetime, and i was very impressed. and stating it has 405 hp-that is very tuned down from what i hear. I may be mistaken, but i believe the number is 25 for the f-body, have no idea on the corvette, but the years were 92-96 zr-1's. BTW, the zr1 was the first vette that could do 180mph+ from the factory. So I now ask, why was the motor discontinued, was it a lil before it's time. did gm overprice it (i believe so). Would enjoy some comments, maybe someone start another thread with the LT5.

More likely (if what the guy claimed was even true) he had a SBC with a set of Arao 32V heads or something along those lines. I've seen pics of a Northstar swap as well, so I suppose that could be an option. Not sure why someone would go that route, though, beyond the originality factor.

I hope the original poster just meant 4th gen and not LS1.
Taking out an LS1 for a ford motor would be just sad.
I'm all about messing up a 6 cyc and dropping anything nice in its place, including a cobra motor if it'll fit.
