Default Help with 2001 Cobra

I drove into work this morning and was behind a bad *** 01' Cobra. This car had 2 red cables looped and hanging, one by each exhaust pipe and behind the rear axle.

My question is what are these 2 red cables?

I was guessing something to do with Nitrous....

Has anyone seen this or know what this is?

Yeah, maybe his bottle is back there. I've seen the same thing with aftermarket gas tanks, though...

I am guessing he had flamethrowers back there. There is this guy in a 57 Bel Air around here who has them. They are just before the end of the tips and the wires are spark plug wires.

They are like that really cool toy that a kid REALLY wants for Christmas that is cool for five minutes then gets thrown into the closest, never to be played with again sort of thing IMO.

Did you notice if it had a solid axle or IRS? If it was a fake cobra or he put the solid axle in it, then it was probably an aftermarket sway bar. The factory swaybar looks like the "cables" you decribed.

Flamethrowers would be my guess as well.

The 01 Cobra came with a solid rear axle. Only the 03+ comes with the IRS.

And about the cables- prob flames...

Uh....NO. The 99 also comes with IRS. And if you ride behind any mustang and look you will see the same "cables" he is describing because it is a swaybar. http://www.svt.ford.com/svtArchiveCo..._three=nothing

This could be it if it does a loop and can be red (or painted red). Being under the rear of car it was hard to tell if a cable or bent iron.

I'm positive it was. Before I was into mustangs I always wondered what that was too. I thought it was brake lines or something. But its the swaybar. I believe the eibach one comes powdercoated red.

He probably has the Flux-Capacitor option and what you are seeing are the return lines.

I guess the best explanation is "flames".

In these pics of a 2001 Cobra I do not see the loops:

Find a picture of a gt or older mustang with a solid axle. I will bet money you will see the "loops".
