Exclamation Please Help! Car idles @400RPM!

When I started my car this morning it died right away. I started it again and gave it some gas and it tried to die again. After it settled it idles at 400RPM. I drove to work and power seems good, responce is good. After I let off the gas and put it in neutral it drops to 400 for a few seconds then comes up to 700. When I decelerate in gear it pulls the car harder to slow it down. The car has had the same setup for a year now with no problems. Basically stock with minor bolt-ons and stock tune. 2002 Z28 M6. It stays in the garage. I drive it at least once a week (just drove it for over 100 miles last weekend with no probles). This has never happened before and there is no SES light or anything. Is it bad gas? I am worried. Please help me figure this out without a trip to the dealer.
TIA

geez...at first i thought you had said it idles at 4000 rpms...but anyhow if you installed a throttle body...that could be it...i guess something could have loosened something in there....but having that setup for over a year and nothing happening seems odd that it would do it all of the sudden...something also could have gotten into your gas i suppose...i can't really help out too much...nothing is really making too much sense to me

It doesn't make sence to me either. I'd blame gas, but it runs smooth and strong in the throttle.
Any one else?

chek your air filter at idle it might not have enough vacum to feed the motor through a clogged filter but when the rpms go up it might be able to pull enough air
