Default SES Light, help

Got it scanned today,
Secondary Air Injection Malfunction
P0410, it's throwing that code twice.

Anyone have any ideas, my friend at the dealership thinks it's a bad air pump.

My air pump throws codes too. Whose doesn't?

I need to remove that whole air pump...then figure out how to make the ses light ignore it.

I'm no expert, but I think the check valves in the air system can set of that code too. You can get the code programmed out if you have removed the air pump and have no cats.

for more info search in the PCM/Tuning section.

If it's the same pump as what's on a 98, you can have mine! You pay shipping of course. Let me know.

It may be a stuck check valve (gulp valve). That valve on the air pipe going to the exhaust manifold. About $15 each. Easy job. I had one that was stuck closed. I changed them both and saved the old ones. Set them on the work bench and put motor oil in them. Checked them about 2 weeks later and they were as good as new! Well, now I have two spares. SES light went out.
