Default Oil mix?

Just bought my car and the oil is a quart low. I'm gonna change it next weekend. Problem is I don't know if it has mineral or sythetic oil in it. I just wanna put a cheap quart in it for a couple days while the week passes. Anyone know if this will cause a problem. I don't have a maintenance record of what the previous owner used either.

if your gonna change it next weekend i dont think it should cause a problem, and your only adding one quart, id say do it and change it next weekend, but dont change it and drive on it for an extended period of time

Why not just go ahead and change the oil?

I would change it tomorrow, but between school and work, there's just not enough time. Somehow whenever I plan to change the oil and expect it to take 30-45 minutes. It ends up taking two hours. So I've just learned to plan for the extra time that way I'm not pressed for time. Such a simple task that always seems to have some problem occur.
