Track Shifting

I'm taking my car to the track for the first time today. For all you guys with the M6, just wanted to know what RPM you guys shift at when on the track.

do a search for "launching a m6" everything you wanna know is there.

thread is already started so i suggest you shift at 5600rpms...where your power curve starts to drop off...if you've gotten a dyno which i doubt you have...you would know exactly where to shift at....but yeah there is a thread somewhere that goes into detail on how to launch the car and then how to shift all the way down the track...there are different techniques so use what is most comfortable or works best for you

I think most stock M6 LS1s usually shift at around 6000. Maybe short shift the 1-2 a little bit, and the tach is off a lot in first gear so keep that in mind.

My shift points were set at 6K in my old A4. With the M6 I shift at 6K also, 1-2 you have to be quick because the tach does lag a little. The real trick is going to be launching the damn thing, lol.
