Default slow times at track, why???

Here is my times:

R/T .391
60" 2.229
330 6.007
MPH 61.85
1/8 9.042
MPH 80.40

I have mid length headers,K&N fipk, high carsound cats, single chamber flow dumped and i believe they are 2.73 gears. can some one help me out. if i change to 3.73 gears is it going to help out alittle or a lot...me and a body went to kennedale this past thursday and raced, he killed me all night on the track, but when we were on the highway i killed him every time....i dynoed my car at 305 to the wheels and he said he had 425 to the wheels. can someone tell me why i am beating him on the highway and not at the track.

Your sixty foot time does suck. What altitude are you racing at? As to why you beat your buddy on the highway I don't know but maybe he's set up just for the 1/8th. Does your friend have gears? Is he manual or auto? If you get 3.73 gears it will help only if you get traction.

You shouldn't beat him at either....

Work on your driving skills. 2.2 60' is a shame. Most go sub 2's in a completely stock LS1. My auto went 1.9 launching from idle. You should be trapping much higher times also.

About the gears. I had 3.23's and went 8.9, I only got in one pass, but that was it. That was just a cutout before the muffler. Could have gone lower. When I got the gear in it went 8.7, again on just one pass. This was with the mods in my sig.

Maybe the air/altitude has something to do with it. Where are you at?
