Default Unplugging EGR

If I unplug the electrical connector to the EGR will it always stay closed? I got the block off plate for the exhaust side but don't have the plate for the intake side. I'm going to have the pipe just hang there and don't want anything sucked in when the EGR does open. This is not for the LS1 BTW, but it should be the same concept.

You can tell me how it is for the LS1. I just said it so noone wastes their time linking me to block off plates, which don't exist for my 3.8.

I would imagine that it would remain closed, if you unplug it. Its only commanded to be open during certain times (rpm's and map). So its default stage should be closed.

Get a 1 3/8 Inch freeze plug or whatever freeze plug you need to plug the intake. I'm not sure if it would stay open or not since I think it operates in a vaccum. Hopefully the freeze plug works for ya. Works for me so far.
