Actually the question is a bit miss-leading.
Yes, the post counter only works in the tech forums, but the text under your screen-name (ex: Staging Lane) does not correspond with post count. It used to though. It used to be that after a certain number of posts you would advance to the next title. Unfortunately, It stopped working 2 upgrades back. I think the moderators can change their own though to anything they want. Mine and yours (Jaberwaki) should be something like "At the Ticket Booth" or "Tech Fanatic".
