Use 91 if you can afford it, you will end up spending more if you use 87 anyway due to reducded mileage. I ran 87 once in my car and it freaked out, wouldnt idle right wanted to die, but that was on base gas which is like the worst gas ever. Commercial 87 shouldnt be that bad.

I tried running 87 when I first purchased the car. Never again, it sounded like a diesel.. The detonation was insane when I tried accelerating. Stay away from the cheap crap. Get the highest octane available...

91 only if I have to. Preferably 93. As stated before the low grade **** will detonate under the compression of our engines.

to those that ran the cheap stuff.....
didn't you read your manual????

NEVER use less then 91 octane.
using 87 is all fun and games till you detinate at WOT and burn a hole in your piston

You can really tell a difference between 87, 91, and 93 octane. Its actually cheaper in the long run to run 93 because your vcm will try to make up for the bad gas by spraying more gas in. You can tell the difference between the 3 different octanes because the car uses a different timing table depending on the grade of gas it gets. 87 is horriable to run in your engine mainly due to knock retard.

I love my car so I want the best in it that I can buy. I put 93 and will never put anything below that.

Yeah, sometimes gas stations will run some crazy ****. Most of my family on my mom's side lives in Peoria. One time I was down there near a town called Pekin. This town is pretty small and is a fair distance from the actual city of Peoria. But I went to one particular gas station and couldnt believe my eyes. In addition to regular grade choices they had friggin 100 octane! Totally off the wall, out of nowhere, with no reason for it that I could comprehend. Unless they truly had enough demand to maintain selling it, I wouldnt expect it though. That was a few years back, havent been there recently at all.

I cant believe that you would put that cow **** into your tank. I always run 93 octane from the same place, and almost never get it anywhere else. If I do have to go somewhere I try to pick out the place that looks like it has the freshest, cleanest, and best gas...which usually translates into a decent looking store setup and clean pump area.
