What do 01 z28s run stock with 2.73s in the 1/4 mile ?

If you havent done any mods and want to I would say go with some slicks or drag radials first. That wil help out a lot if your car spun like mine did.

 

Don't go with slicks if you have a stock suspension. It won't help much and you will probably just break something.

 

my 01 has 2.73s and it spins tires my friends 98 t/a has 2.73s and it only spun em after he did headers. I was wondering if any1 has actual times with there 01 w/ 2.73s?

 

so what does a 98 T/A with only Catback..prob run in 1/4 mile.

 

I know of a local one that ran 13.3 @ 105......2001 stock auto Z28, 2.73's, with t-tops and no other options.

 

You must not have much torque because I blew off my tires on street tires. I gained .4 tenths over street tires time. Running 12.9 completely stock.

 

tiger2o69- u spun really bad with a stock camaro *a4* that you needed drag radials??? how did you launch the car? i can see ya spinning if ya just punch it... the way i launch at the track i barely spin with street tires... drag radials actually bogged me down at the track.

i wouldn't go with slicks with a stock car, i dont think it would do anything but make ya slower and drag radials didn't really help me on the track either.. i did my best times at the track on street tires. drag radials helped me out like crazy on the street though!!

 

98 trans am with cat back, low 13s, with headers high 12s

 

high 13's with that gear...
course my auto 3.23 rear car ran a 12.88 with just a lid and 1000 miles on the car... ofcourse some ls1's just do and some others ls1's dont...
mine is a non option car tho.. wayed a scant 3480 with me in it full wieght. i wiegh 165lbs..

 

A friend of mine had a 2000Z with 2.73s and his also went 13.3 at 105 (it might've been 104) He did it on the RSA tires too.

 

Thats giving it just enough gas to keep it from shifting out early. I suppose my car is just more torque than others. There were several people who tried getting it to hook up with stock rsa's. I now have nitto 555 street tires which hook alright but not that great. I thought everone had traction issues but i guess now.

 

what are u talking about every1 must not have as much torque as you. If i launch the car at about 1200 rpms my tires spins so bad that it will shift into 2nd. but i was thinkin why my car (2001) would do it stock and my friends 98 wouldnt. Doesnt the 01 and 02 have the 6.0 truck cam and have more torque down low ?

 

You basically answered your question. I didnt say I had more torque than everyone else. Looks like you do have the same problem as me. However with my stock tires it just wouldnt launch. Yes it does have that cam but I didnt think about that. I just dont understand how you guys are against better tires, would it not be better to be able to stall to 1500 and let it go? As for the weak 10 bolt that was what I read forever on here but have been told that with a4 people are running 10's and 11's no problem. Some pulling 1.5 60'. I also had major wheel hop.
Basically they helped me a good bit. Thats just my opinion and personal experience. You guys must have good track prep?
