No offence here. Everyone's entitled to their thoughts....just stating he originally described the car as a SS w/quite a few SLP options. Makes it worth considerably more than a Z28. A dealer would be asking $22-$24k for that car. That, I KNOW. Best wishes, SCamaroS. WJ

that is what I figured. I car in this shape would have to be a lot more expensive anywhere else. the guy just doesn't drive it any more, he got a Jeep instead for the snow and is sick of paying insurance on something sitting in his garage

I paid about 18k for mine. Fully loaded stock, adult lady owned(my sis) and pampered. I felt that was a fair price.

SCamaroS: The car is a loaded SS w/bunch of SLP options.
Yeah, ghey options that will probably all be replaced by quality stuff in the first 90 days.

yeah, got it today and drove it around a whole lot. the car is pretty close to perfect and I'm very happy with the buy. the guy still owes 22k on it, so he'll take my 18k plus 4k of his and pay it off. yikes! anyway, the mods and real goofing off begins when I get back from vacation in a week. i'm not going to do too much to it for the next few months, just a cutout and subframe connectors, maybe a skip shift elim and strut tower brace also. thanks for all the input fellas.

Lid and catback should be #1 and #2, then SFC and !cags.

Skip the strut tower brace unless you're running road race tires and you auto-x.

it already has lid (can't tell which kind, but I know it isn't stock by looking at it, probably SLP), and an SLP Dual/Dual catback. I plan on running this thing very hard through mountain twisties, where I used to run my Yamaha R1, so it will have tons of lateral stress on it, I think a STB would make that kind of stuff feel better. any ideas?

I bought a 2000 SS that was very clean and not one scratch or nick for $14,000. off E-Bay last November 2003. I sold my Trans Am in August and missed it. Actually paid with Pay Pal, and got points too. Seller was upset it cost her $500. or $600. Great car if I can ever figure out a slight stumble? Friend has 2000 WS-6 as clean as any out there with 30K miles, he's asking $18, 000. to start.

I like these F-Bodies and I have an Saleen SSC that is justing sitting, fast but hate that short wheel base. Check the car out well, many have been raced heavily, make sure it was not crashed. Its unibody and not all shops are created equal.

here's a question for anyone who knows. my car says 2001 on the title (and the VIN # checks out), but has 9/00 as the original build date, but it wasn't originally purchased until may 2001. is the originally purchase date the reason for 2001 on the title/VIN, or did they start making 2001 models as early as 9/00 (Sept. 2000)?
