WS6 man, wayyyyyyyyyyy hotter then z28. Personally i never liked the camaro's, only the ls1 SS's or the old IROC-Z. Go for the W! 
I have black on black 6 speed and i haven't regretted one cent. Its worth it!

Camaro's have about the same in the SS. You can't compare a WS6 or a SS to a Z28 their just too different.
And the differences are mainly cosmetic. Stripper Z's and Formy's are the way to go for a quick car.

Both Are Wonderful. Ive Had A Transam And Now I Have A Z28. Power Wise The Ws6 Maybe Just A Little Faster, But I Think The Camaro Will Be Better. I Had Problems With The Pop Up Headlight Motors On My T/a. It Was A Headache! Its No Fun Having A Car That Sometimes Winks!

Get whichever one you want. The difference in performance from a 98 Z28 - 02 SS is about 2 tenths of a second stock. The difference between a 98 TransAm and a 02 WS6 is about 2 tenths of a second stock. Put some exhaust on the '98's and you've got yourself a statistical tie. 
Pick on whichever one fits your personality and pocket book the best. They're ALL great cars, so you really can't go wrong either way.
