you'll be fine with the khumos as long as you don't mind spinning them...

that was one of my favorite threads as well, i dont think the administrators liked it though, they shut it down on me

on the tire subject:

Whats the best choice then for a tire with good treadlife (fish tailing cant be avoided sometimes, handling, and MOST IMPORTANTLY good drag racing traction. rain traction would be nice, but im not too worried about that. as long as they dont hydroplane at 70 im happy.

Drag Radials. Plain and simple. If you want a good driver tire with awesome track capability, I'd really go with the Nitto 555R. I drive mine everyday, and they offer better wet traction than my F1's did. For the front, just get the Kumho's.

I absolutely love the Kuhmos on my SS. I'm pulling consistent 1.8 60' times with a best of 1.85 on these with a M6. I'm not a very good driver so I know these times would be repeatable by someone more experienced. The tire seems so hard when you touch it but hooks so well for me.

also, i think everyone should check out the ls1 chat room at ls7power.com

you have to register to see the link to chat which is in the upper corner, but i think it offers a cool way to chill with ur fellow ls1 owners in real time!

Alright, for everyone's benefit, if you have comments to make about these tires you will need to specify whether you are speaking about the MXs or the 712s. If you've already made this distinction, then I'm not talking to you.

Actually, I have nothing bad to say about the MXs. I mean, there's only so much you can expect from a street tire and they've done everything well.

yeah, if you want snatchtastic 60ft times at the track you should buy a cheap set of stocker rims and get slicks. youre right, you can only get so much out of a street tire.
