Refinance it, that might lower payments on it depending on your credit score and income....

Yes but that is reason talking. I am passionate about my cars. If I can afford a car I love I will gladly give up a lot of other things to scrape by. But they are a bad investment, some of us just don't care.

If you love it, and can afford it, keep it!!! As said before by others, you will severly miss the power if you get something else! I'm 27 and have had 12+ vehicles and loved most of them (damn ford! ) Not sure about your area, but school, time wise, and job at same time should work out. NO car is worth your livelyhood (sorry guys), but do what you gotta do!

Keep this in mind. You already have modded your motor so goodbye for any chance of any type of powertrain warranty. I also had a 2003 sonic blue cobar and had alot of problems with it. I could afford it but people are starting to have alot of problems with the 03-04 Cobra's already and SVT is finding any way they can to VOID the warranty. Think about it, why did they build over 13,000 in 03 and less than 7,000 in 04. They didn't spend enough time thinking of all the problems that may occur due to the roots blower on a 4.6 motor.
One of my friends had #7 and #8 pistons melt and when SVT came out to inspect it they said he had a pulley on at one time and voided the warranty. His bill after everything was said and done was $11,700 or so. Can you afford that?
If you are having a hard time just making payments what the heck are you going to do if anything breaks. It will.
This is my 2nd ls1 I have owned and has been very good to me so far.
Bye a 98-02 ls1 and add some bolt ons and heads and cam and a little nos and you will not be looking back.

Also you think the ls1 motors cost some money look into the cobra motors. Also blowers are hard on motors period.

If you don't have the funds I'm not sure if you have a choice.

I'll take over payments

Dont keep something that is gonna cause you stress, or money problems.

Sounds like you got more important things going on right now, So "I" would sell it, get something cheaper (even if it is a honda) and later on, when you are more stable, get another "fast" car.

Remember, there is always something better, and there is no sense in living for a car.

you can sell that thing and get an LS1 really cheap, later down the road when you get situated you can get another if you really like it. just take your time and make sure you do something you wont regret. nomater what we say, your the one that has to live with your decision. if you can cut back on spending enough to help then do it. its not so bad, i did it. just dont waste money. that doesnt mean dont have fun but just be careful. think to youself, do i REALLY need this? before you buy something. that is if your not doing that already. i'm 20, bought my car, pay for all my bills, and go to school. i got my car at the end of '02 and was paid for beginning of '04. i wanted somethign so bad i made sure i got it. its just how bad you want it. so far i have about 28,000 into my car in a little over 2 years, including the car. i still have tons of fun, i just dont blow money on things i dont need. i pack my lunch for work and go out to eat with friends maybe once every 2 weeks instead of every week. its all on how your situation is now

For anyone who has an 03 good luck with selling them I'm so far upside down with this car it's not even funny. I"m stuck with it though and it might be the last ford I own. I have both an ls1 in a truck and a 03 I love my ls1 alot more. It's nice to be able to do motor work without breaking the bank. Don't get me wrong the 03's are nice but when it comes down to it the Ls1 is a superior motor.

I'm sorry, but you would deserve a swift kick in the junk if you did this! I love the new front end, but from the door back, its hideous!!! How much did you like your old f-body compared to the cobra. If you liked it just as much, then I would definitely sell the cobra and get an f-body. Life is stressful when you have to struggle with something expensive all the time like that, I'm sure most of us have been there at one point or another. If you can manage, keep the cobra. Personally, I'd get an f-body for $10k or so, possibly one with some basic mods, and as your bank roll grows, you can begin to modify it and really "most" people won't know the difference as to which car is "cooler" or worth more. To most, there all the same

look at me..im in the navy..and i got a second job..just to fund my car project..until its done(which will be about 11 months) i will be walking and working stupid hours...it just depends on how far your willing to go for your car.To me...walking..getting rides for the next 11 months and working 18 hours a day 5 days a week..then 6 on the weekends(7 days a week)and dropping about 95% of all the money i make(minus 4% for bills.and the other pennies lef over for ...me) IS worth the wait becuase i know whats coming....so..im sure you couldnt be as bad off as i am...keep the car..and enjoy it.
