i guess by your reasoning the 350 horse vettes should absolutly DOMINATE our little 305 horse cars on the dyno then!

you can pull your "you z28 guys just WISH you had an SS" BS out all you want, cause its true, i do WISH i had an SS! they look awesome!
Screw the Dyno. Where I come from, 1/4 mile times do the talking. WJ

if the SS cam with an ls6 motor or 12 bolt or any other huge defining feature it'd be one thing, but a hood, spoiler, slightly stiffer sway bars, and graphics (35th anv. package) aint nothing special.

like i said, its not like back in the day where a z28 came with a 302 or 350 and you could order an SS with a 396.

the point is the 396 was a totally different engine option. to many variables in your example.

LOL You guys crack me up. Everybody knows that the SS is a Z28 w/ some makeup on her. That being said though, I just sold my Z28, and fully intend to get a Super Sport. On the track, WGAF, but on the street, the SS sure is Purdy.

And for the record, I know you could make a Z28 a clone SS for cheaper, but every time you looked at the car, you would still know. Just my opinion.

Because I own an SS I can say this with authority...

A SS is a Z28 that looks faster. Having owned both, My 01 Z would rape my 00 SS mod for mod - it was a freak. My SS just looks like it should be out of control.

WHO THE **** CARES!

Kinda like the difference between a real set of D cups and a plastic set.
Both look the look, but if you're the owner, you KNOW the difference.

If I wanted the Z I would of purchased one I'll spend the extra for the 17" wheels, spoiler and scoop as far as performance theres not much difference.

Do you mean if you wanted the SS? Hood, spoiler, and wheels are the biggest differences sure, but the SS's had a few options that were nicer than the Z. The grill, the suspension, the shifter, catback, etc..... They are a little nicer. Nobody has said there is a big performance difference.

So, if you beat your friend's SS, both cars having the same mods, this will give you enormous bragging rights, because you have "just" a Z28?
