From what I have seen black is a really common one and has been the cheapest. I have seen some really low priced yellow ones too, I think probably cause it takes the right kind of person to drive a yellow car.

I always knew I was special. I love my yellow vette. And it seems the women do to.

you're right.... it does....

j/k! i know what you mean about driving a yellow car though, people with cars like that seem to have the same kind of personality (have a friend with a yellow z71 ) i would have a black f-body if i had my choice, and a black z06 if i had to choose vettes. stealthyness does it for me

imo, i would spend $18-20k on a 97-98 c5 with around 50k miles, put $10k into motor and stuff, and be spanking the z06 all day and your still at the cost of the stock z06. otherwise the z06 is bad azzzz.

Ha ha dont think so. I was torn between black and yellow. Remembering how much of a pain in the *** black is to keep clean convinced me.

But then you aren't as light as the Z06, you don't have the closer geared tranny, you don't have the upgraded suspension, you don't have the nice seats, you don't have the kick *** OEM Z06 wheels, and you can't say "i drive a Z06."

I'd have to agree with this. I'd get a vert and start modding if it were me though.

true but with the power level your gonna upgrade suspension and stuff anyway. im just saying what i would do if i had the money, being that i would make it a drag car with slicks skinnys, rollcage, full supension, etc. it all depends on what you want out of the car

Im not saying that yellow is a bad color at all. Im just saying the people that I know that drive them want to be noticed. I get noticed enough as it is.

An 02 for LESS then 30k. Right now the 01s are right at 30k so I would have to say no. But you MIGHT find one with more miles. I say just save your pennies and get what you really want. Thats what I did

The story I just finished reading in Hot Rod says 1 out of 3 vettes sold is a Z06. Suprising, not rare at all.

HA HA, dont kid yourself. Its a pretty established fact that the LS6 block doesnt make a damn bit of difference. Dont try selling that snake oil.

Original Poster: Unless you can get a below market value deal on a Z06 AND plan on modding the car get a C5. You pay for all the little upgrades from GM. Why not just do them yourself, and use even better parts.

(yeah yeah flame me for not knowing my engine parts lol and making dumb mistakes on the set up) Anything else you guys would sugest before/after?? Problems i would run into?

Z06 corvettes are awesome but if you are going to change everything spend less on a C5 and have more money for mods
