I'm glad winter is almost over here. I totalled my winter car , hit a loaded log truck and rolled 2 over times. It used to be a s10 Blazer, it went great in the snow. For my next winter car I think I will get another small suv, or an awd car.

Wow, glad you were ok. I just put a new tranny in my Ranger so I guess I will be more than likely keeping it another winter. Although if I do find a good deal on a WRX the Ranger will be gone. Thanks for the comments and advice everyone.

I only got a couple bruises, and a very small scratch on my arm. Glad I did not have alot of money in that thing, but even more glad that I walked away. Thanks to seat belts.

Just buy some Snow tires fro the winter months....I have a second set of rims and have snow tires on them....
My previous car...397RWHP 382RWTQ....had no problems getting around in the snow with the snow tires on...I never saw the ditch or got stuck once...and we had 4x4 off road vehicles getting stuck around here

Well I think we have more snow than the Z could handle. Plus I would never want to get salt on it. On top of that I love trying to go through as much snow as I can and getting crazy on the lakes. I got stuck in under an inch of snow in my driveway when I was moving my car from my shed to my shop. 295's hate snow.

I have a truck now and am thinking about going with a fun winter car. For hunting I always go with my dad and we take his farm truck anyways. My point in thinking is that something like a WRX is safe/fun in snow and good gas mileage compared to a truck that is good in snow if in 4 wheel drive but crappy otherwise. Although if I could afford it I would get a newer style GMC 4x4 short box. It's hard to choose

yeah i live in cali but i dont think you will find a WRX for what your wanting to spend..i looked into them and found that they typically run from 15 to 20k...although they are very fun to drive regardless of weather...
