Default I think my carpet is restricting my gas pedal...

On your cars does the carpet bunch up just to the right of the gas pedal? Mine does...it's like way too close and I think it's restricting it. I can feel that I'm stepping on carpet when I'm driving and I have to reposition the heel of my foot to get a direct shot at the pedal to avoid the carpet. Also, the car shifts at 5,700 (A4) at WOT so I don't think it's going to full WOT. Any thoughts on this?

I rubbed a hole in my carpet next to the pedal from flooring it over the past four years!! Guess the edge of my shoe hits the trans tunnel!!

just get a buddy to hold her on the floor while you watch the throttle body cam, see if it hits the stop you MIGHT have to adjust the throttle body so it will open all the way, some have casting flaws on the stop, andsome just wont open all the way.

my floormat seems to slide toward the firewall and i usually just reach down and pull it back every now and then, i need to secure it soemhow. i think my foot constantly pushing the clutch in scoots it forward every now and then.

If your floor mats are going to interfere with one of your pedals, better for it to be the throttle than the brake!

I had a floor mat that refused to stay flat and in one place, eventually bought some aftermarket floor mat replacements... that seemed like a big improvement, I think the heavier weight of the materials used compared to the stock mats helps it hold itself in place much better. Had actually tried sticking velcro on the old one to hold it down, but that didn't help much for long, I wouldn't recommend it.

i noticed when i first got my Z that my foot would be slowed down or caught up all the way by the trans tunnel. My foot like points outward naturally, I just adjusted and now WOT is just a push away..

Yeah, that's exactly what's happening to me! It's not the floor mat...my foot is getting caught on the carpet by the trans tunnel.

I had a patient with Carpal-tunnel syndrome the other day so I guess that we can diagnose your car with Carpet-Tunnel Syndrome

Treatment : Hammer it in then and show that carpet and tunnel who's the boss.
