LID with SLP Hood?
I have a 98 Tran am M6. I want to get the WS6 hood from SLP, but I also wanted to get the SLP lid. I have read that people use both, but I don't see how if the SLP hood uses your stock air box.

The hood will use your stock airbox I believe. I'm not certain but a little bird told me the only difference between the stock airbox and the Ram Air airbox is that the Ram Air has a bigger opening...which can be easily attained with a stock airbox by doing the "free ram air" mod. Your new lid will slip right on the airbox and clip on nice and snug.

The WS6 hood for 98+ T/A and Formulas was not made by SLP. It was made by ASC (American Sunroof Co.) for GM. You can get it directly from any GM dealer.
The airbox on the WS6 is slightly different. It's raised and opened on the front to fit the scoops on the WS6 hood.
The hood from SLP ("Firehawk" style hood) is designed to fit the standard f-body airbox.
I have the SLP aftermarket lid on my Firehawk. No rubbing of any kind. It fitted like a glove!
