47k miles in a 2001 would most likely mean a lot of highway miles. Less than 30k in a 99 - probably a lot of around town miles (harder on the engine) - so they probably have comparable wear and tear.

I like the Black over the pewter, the 2001 has some part advantages. I think it may have been hydraulics as well.

That is a pretty big assumption based upon nothing but mileage and model year.

Yes, but considering I put 28.5k miles on my 2002 daily driver, I'd say it isn't too far off.

My point is that you have absolutey no idea what the history of those cars is and making a complete guess at how the miles were accumulated could be completely wrong just as easily as it could be right.

Geoff was asking for our opinions. You gave him yours, I gave him mine. Ours are different, and that is ok. Just gives him some things to think about (and quaestions to ask) when he actually goes and does his research.

Congrats!! The 2001 has slight advantages over the 99 as far as stock internals go. Definitely worth the extra $$. I've heard of too many '98s and '99s having problems. From 2000 on, very few factory problems. Thats a good buy.
