I guess my '02 SS M6 just isn't as efficient as some others. If my foot is in it around town we're talking 12-13 MPG. I'm still running the stock SS exhaust, factory tune, and we do have oxygenated gas around here. It really isn't an issue for me but after I got the car I just had to know to compare the LS1 to old muscle cars I had through the years, and the Coupe Deville I drive now. You know, 6-8 MPG for teh GTO's, Challengers, Camaro's, and Vette's. Of course, gas was $0.28 for a gallon of Super then, but it's all relative. Only cleared about $60.00 every two weeks from each job. Worked 2, sometimes 3 jobs to pay for the fast cars and fast women. Get the LS1 and have some fun. You only live once. But if I were you I would check to see what my insurance premium would be. Gas might be insignificant - comparatively speaking.

i own an m6 camaro ss and i recently installed 4.11 gears, and boy did my city mileage shoot up. even with the loss on the highway, im getting roughly 22-23 mph with 50% city and 50% highway, but thats if i lay off it. but if i continue doing my normal routine, i get a good 20-21mpg with 50% city and 50% highway. when i had 3.42s my city mileage went down, but my highway was a little higher, nothing to major tho. if i were you, and i wanted an LS1 and was worried about gas mileage, get a formula pontiac with 4.11s and LTs, lt's will give you about 1mpg. but other then that, you really cant complain.

the gas mileage of these LS1s are quite good and not too far less compared to a V6 something. and you're making at least 100hp more than the average V6 sedans.

i recently did 31 mpg at 75 mph wiith an A4 and 3.23 (?) TA convert that was completely full of cargo up to the roofline. my old Accord 4 cyl would probably make only a little bit better MPG while doing 75 mph.

My large cammed/stalled A4 gets almost the same highway mileage as my mom's taurus.

i can hit 250 to a tank so about 18 mpg. Thats pizza delivery driving. I prefer not to turn my car off when i go up to a house. #1 they give me a better tip, #2 Its less wear on the engine. So it will idle for prob 20-30 min a nite. Not really good for gas mileage when you idle at 900rpm.

15 city, 23 highway @80mph w/3.42's A4 & few mods. Probably could get 25-26 if I kept the miserable 2.73's.

I am getting about 26-28 mpg hwy and about 15-18 mpg city depending on how heavy my foot feels. I'm pretty happy with how reasonable the gas mileage is on this car since I just got it about a week ago

My daily commute while in school is 50/50 city/hwy and i get between 21-24 mpg . I've taken it on one trip (135 miles one way) and I got 30 mpg. Staying out of it 90% of the time and using the cruise control when appropriate has helped me attain these numbers.

Default use money to modify car or buy another??

Ok, here's my question for everyone: I have a 1998 T/A with 60k miles on it, and i was wanting to know whether or not i should buy another car for about $400 so that I wouldnt put miles on my T/A or should i just spend all the money that i would dump into the $400 car and use it for mods for my T/A?? I am just worried about racking up miles on my T/A and having performance begin to decrease. i maintain the car, and change all of the fluids and filters, but i just bought it and have only put a few hundred miles on it, it had 59k when i bought it, what do you guys think i should do.Thanks.

I'm averaging 26.6 right now.(m6) Majority of my driving is on the highway. LT's, ORYP, pulley and justed added the lid. Everything else untouched including stock cat-back.

For comparisons sake, I am currently driving my mom's 2000 Ford Taurus with the duratech V6 while my car is STILL in for work..... (3.0L DOHC 24V)
My last tank of gas had interstate miles from West Lafayette to Indianapolis and back (over 200 miles round trip) and it only got 24.XX mpg WITH 200 miles on highway.
