Default Just Bought a 2001 SS

Alright, so i just bought a 2001 Camaro SS, and have a couple of questions that I wanted answers to, so I joined LS1Tech in hopes that someone could help me out. I was wondering what exactly was included in the standard handling performance package that came on the SS's. I know that when they were sent to SLP, you could opt for I believe an even better handling package, but what was the stock package?

Also, I'm not too into the idea of major modding, but I love the sound of the SLP loudmouth but was wondering if anyone had just installed the loudmouth muffler and not the entire loudmouth catback? Would it sound the same? My guess is yes, but then again, if i was sure, I wouldn't be asking you guys..heh.

The other question is regarding the shifter it has. Its not a hurst, and I dont recall ever seeing an SS manual without a hurst. Was this just an option from SLP that most buyers opted for and mine didn't?

i dont know about the suspension, but the reason it would be hard to replace the stock muffler w/the loudmouth one is that they are placed in different locations, the loudmouth muffler is a single in single out muffler that is mounted in the I-pipe then goes to the back bumber and creates a Y makeing dual tips, where as the stock is a single in dual out that is mounted horizontal to the rear bumper, if you were just to buy the SLP muffler, or a dynomax bullet, you'd end up paying around the same to build the y and have the tips come out how they are suppose to

To answer your Hurst question, yes it was an option, and you could get an SS (or WS6) without the Hurst shifter
