Talking Newbie to LS1 Tech

Whats up fellow F body freaks......though new to the forum, im not new to LS1's. I have a 2000 Firehawk and a 1991 GTA. Ill get pics up soon...... Ive had them for a couple of years each, so i hope thats gives me some credibility. Just wanna say theres a ton of nice cars on here, and looking forward to being a part of the forum.

Welcome.

Nice line up. My first F-body was an '89 Formula 350.

Is your GTA a 305 or 350ci?

It is a 305, but i used to have an 88 GTA w/ the 350. Somehow, the 91 305 is faster. hmm..

Maybe the 305 is getting better traction?

My '89 was in the 14.3 range with just a flowmaster. Wasn't too bad back when I had it. Then a friend bought a '91 (also with a 350ci) and was doing 14.1s stock It was the fastest stock L98 F-body I'd ever seen.

ha...wow, my 88 ran 15.9, and the 91 ran 15.2. Neither had traction issues, and both are stock.

I'm sure part of it was weight. Both my '89 and my friend's '91 were extremely lightweight models, they had basically no options. GTAs are quite a bit heavier. The times I posted may have been a bit misleading. Those were out bests, as I recall most of the time we were in the mid-14 range but could touch low 14s in perfect weather with full traction.

The 15.2 sounds like a good time for a stock 305 with all the GTA options. Always cool to see people around with 3rd gens. It's getting real hard to find decent ones these days.
