Buying a 99 C5 this week, what should my first mods be as far as bang for your buck. How is the stock exhaust and intake.

Vararam Intake + Exhaust (my preference is Corsa) should be your first mods. I would also get lowering bolts.

Wouldn't you need to upgrade intake and exhaust before headers?

when i say longtubes i mean longtubes and full exhaust all the way back. I dont think you need to upgrade the intake first. Exhaust is considered to be a great first mod as far as i know... But im not truly a corvette guy, so its just my .02

Not to be rude or anything, but I AM a Corvette guy, and you are wrong on this. The Vararam has been shown up to 22RWHP gains over stock. That's pretty significant, and is considered one of the first mods that C5 owners do. For roughly $1200 (referenced from TByrne ---->) you can get a Corsa + Vararam for nearly a 40 rwhp gain.
