Default Removing Part of MAF

does cutting the screen and both of the center dividers on the MAF sensor really help air flow. is wise and safe to do this.

MAF is good for 450-500 horsepower. Leave it alone. When I got my tune, I descreened mine.

When in doubt, leave it alone. Even descreening is a controversial procedure.

the MAF is a very touchy subject and all cars will respond differently to the mod.

results can vary widel. some will get terrible MPG and bad idles....others will gain 10rwhp and have no effect on driveability.

it comes down to how well of a job was done on it... you should be safe just descreening it......... but think long and hard if u want to go any further with it i.e removing fins / porting and smoothing

i don't get it. you can buy descreened MAF's and along with ported ones. or like you all say it pretty much depends up on the driver.

It can be tuned for. I have done it successfully. If you can't tune for it, don't do it.

so I ported & desreened the MAF and no real noticeably difference except for when I push on the throttle it seems that I have to push down a little more than before. Is this common or just one of those things that could happen to any car.

Get the maf in your right hand, lift it up high and back, then throw the thing as far as you can, Then get a mafless tune and see the power gained.
Why put an obstruction in your intake air flow, I have never had one, most of the Aussie LS1 guys who have mods also don't use them now.

yeah, get rid of it, or don't screw with it. I hate my MAF.

I really think I got better gas mileage running MAFless.
