Shipping car?
Has anyone ever dealt with shipping a car across the country? If so, what are some reputable companies? Also how much roughly would it cost to ship from Indiana to Texas? I have a guy on this board interested in my Z28 and I want to get him a quote. Thanks!
There are tons of them on the net. I shipped a car from NY state, to AZ about a year ago. It cost $900, but thats a long trip. Plus the car was a b body, so it weighs alot. It was Tim Spears Transport. Look for companies that provide 1 truck pickup/dropoff. Many carriers switch trucks alot. As they do this it creates more chances for damage as your car gets moved. DAS is famous for this. Im not saying they damage cars, but they switch them from "terminal" to "terminal" The less moving means less chance of damage. Also check with them to see if you can have the drivers cell number so you can track your car, and closely read the liability paperwork. Many claim to owe you nothing in case of damage. Lastly, PLEASE do yourself a favor and inspect the car closely before signing the release paperwork!

my car is getting shipped from florida to me (in chicago) right now, which is roughly a 20-25 hour drive... and it cost $572... just shop around.
movecars.com is a good basis to start off of, but dont buy in to the SPECIFIC companies sorted by town, city, etc. They are all national bonded companies that will go anywhere and have trucks everywhere, so dont just look at the companies that are "based" in your town.
