Default 99 A4 Question

I just looked up the option codes on my door and found something odd. It's probably just me on a Monday being a bonehead. I have code GU2, which according to the FAQ indicates a 2.73 rear end. However, I have a selectable first gear which I thought indicated a 3.23 rear end....bonehead, or something else?

All the A4 LS1 cars can select first, regardless of gear ratio...and welcome to the board.

Yes, I think the 98s were the only ones that you could not select 2nd. Or at least that is how my 98 camaro was. If you put it in 2nd it would not go past 2nd but it would start in first.

Ditto. I've got a '99 Trans Am A4 w/ a selectable first gear, and it most definitely had 2.73s from the factory.
